Futuroscope

Poitiers

Poitiers is the nearest major town and is 20 minutes drive north. Poitiers is a warm and lively city with many narrow alleyways situated around it's historic Univiersity. The architectural showpiece of the town is the Notre-Dame-La-Grande Cathedral,which was built by the builders of the original Notre Dame in Paris.

Poitier also contains a very large and up to date shopping centre in this town, and has many fantastic restaurants.

Montmorillion

There is a wide variety of activities available in Montmorillon and its region, from the very lovely old French town with great restaurant and a lot of History to the Racing Circuit in the Vienne Valley and Snake Island in La Trimouille. Montmorillion is approximately 20 minutes drive east.

Lussac les Chateaux

Being only a fifteen minute drive to the supermarkets and excellent restaurants will cater for all your needs. Markets are held each month on a Thursday.

La Roche Posay

For those who would like a gamble, the casino in La Roche Posay is the place to be. Excellent restaurants and only a thirty minute drive.

The Loire Valley

The Loire Valley is one and half hours to the north. The chateaux, vineyards and wine caves should not be missed. For those enjoying water sports the lake and man-made beach is the place to be.

Paris

Unarguable one of the most romantic cities in the world and home of the Eiffel Tower, you can catch the hourly TGV trains from Poitiers and be in Paris in just one hour.

Disneyland

Catch the hourly TGV train and be in Disneyland in one and a half hours.

La Rochelle

This famous coastal fishing village with fantastic views is complemented by a superb beach. La Rochelle is renowned for its fish restaurants and is well worth the two hour drive.
